How to Stay Stylish With Your Short Hair (Twa)-Styling Staples You Need

This post is sponsored by Urban Prestige, an online boutique specializing in unique jewelry to spice up your life. Great Prices and limited quantities so you stay the independent beauty that you are! You can check out the site here.

We do not own any of the photos unless they bear the name "Urban Prestige" on them, these photos were mainly used for informational purposes only.

Now on to the real reason you clicked on this post (lol <3). It is the new year, new season, and people are out there ready to big chop or try something new! This could be getting a tapered cut or completely shaving off all your hair for a fresh new start. For whatever the reason, it can easily be said that styling options will be limited! However there are styling staples that you as a natural with short hair will need, Here are three of them.

1. Beanies
In the summer, winter, spring, and fall, beanies are a great addition to your wardrobe as you can spice up your look and add flavor with different colors, patterns, etc. The other benefit or beanies is that the can hide your bad hair day, and with short hair it can easily hide under a cute hat! Keep hair pins handy, so that you can pin the beanie down to keep it secure. Check out styling inspiration below! Where to find: Cute Beanies

2. Jewelry
Because of the edgy style of having short hair, and the ability to play your face up more with jewelry, you can really experiment with different styles of jewelry to add even more flavor to your look. A great up an coming fashion blogger Sasee Chic does this everyday and she looks amazing! Check her photo out below and make sure to follow her blog here.

3. Hair Bows, Headbands, and Hair Clips
Just like beanies, hair accessories can add more flavor to your already edgy style. The purpose of having hair accessories is to keep styling fun and encourage you to love your hair even more. Along with the simplicity of maintenance, styling becomes easier especially with cute hair bows and headbands like the ones pictured below and found here.

Keeping Definition of Your Twist Out- Second Day Hair

This blog post has been brought to you by Urban Prestige, your go to online boutique for fashionable accessories to compliment your natural hair and unique style. You can check out the store here

It is the day after New Years Eve and I did not feel like doing anything! In fact I just slept with my hair in a bonnet and called it a night. I woke up with my hair like this and thought I would share how i maintained the style.

Like I mentioned before I put a bonnet over my hair, without re-twisting or doing the pineapple method, and went to sleep. Now if I wanted to elongate my curls I would re-twist the hair, but because this is day two, I do not have to worry about that!

To maintain the style for a week, I re-twist my hair every three days, doing minor detangling and adding oil. I used Eco Styler Gel and Paul Mitchell's The Conditioner initial to set my hair, You can find out how I got the best twist out here and to decrease the chance of product build up (caking white stuff that looks) I do not reply them. I wash on day 7 using Aussie Moist. However I am trying out shea moisture products, so I will have a review on them soon!

How do you refresh your twist outs? Let me know in the comment section below! <3
